I am passionate about using Nutrition for disease prevention. With so much conflicting information available online, it can be confusing for clients. I educate them by explaining that what they eat and how they sleep affect their energy levels, cravings and mood. I use evidence-based practice to provide recommendations and practical strategies tailored to them.
For individuals with food intolerances, food allergies and digestive issues, it can be difficult knowing what to eat. Food avoidance and food fear can easily set in. I help them develop an awareness of the foods they eat and the symptoms they may experience as a result. Other strategies involve managing symptoms and work on healing the gut.
My aim is not to overwhelm but instead empower clients in making small dietary and lifestyle changes that they can implement and adhere to in their daily lives. I am empathetic and work with clients who are committed. I strive to make them comfortable to discuss their concerns and goals, guiding them to wellness and achieving their health goals. If necessary, I can recommend conventional and functional laboratory testing, to help uncover the causes of their health concerns.
